Conservatories
A conservatory is perhaps the most cost-effective way to add an extra room to your home. Conservatories have traditionally been used as casual living spaces or garden rooms, but there is no reason why yours should not fulfil any function you choose - dining room, study, office, living room, playroom or even as a covered area for a swimming pool. A well designed and built conservatory from Leyland Conservatory Specialists should provide a comfortable environment to live in all year round.
Over the years, the range of conservatory styles on the market has grown: -
VICTORIAN
During the reign of Queen Victoria, one's social standing was paramount and your home was a reflection of your status.
Today, the Victorian conservatory with its bay front give a curved appearance, and steeply pitched roof and ornate ridge details, give this style of conservatory a more classical appearance. Simple, timeless design suits Victorian and contemporary homes.
Possibly the most popular of the four classic styles, the Victorian adds style and character to both modern day and period homes.
The Victorian is available in: -
three facet - a bay front that has three main windows that give a curved apearance, widely angled for maximum space
five facet - a bay front with five main windows creating a more rounded appearance
EDWARDIAN
An elegance that echoes the architecture of the Edwardian period, the conservatories keep to the clean, straight lines so typical of the era. The versatility of the apex roof makes the Edwardian a style that can be desiged to complement homes of all sizes and indeed, all ages.
A classic that combines traditional values with modern day technology, the Edwardian style consvervatory is mainly square or rectangular, and is time enduring in every sense making the most of the inside floor space.
A combination of elegance with maximum space, Edwardian conservatories are a very popular choice.
GABLE
A Gable-fronted style of conservatory adds a sense of grandeur to any home. With a high roof space and the same floor space as an Edwardian, a Gable offers excellent use of internal space. The front panel of the roof remains upright rather than sloping back to the centre as on an Edwardian, creating a feeling of great height within the conservatory.
The authentic original Victorian glasshouse, this light and airy design brings with it a feeling of space and enduring grandeur.
MEDITERRANEAN/SUNLOUNGE
Tailor made with a hint of the mediterranean, the Sunlounge with its sloping roof is ideally suited for bungalows or for buildings with low eaves. It is very contemporary and stylish in appearance and can be personalised with a huge range of optional extras.
Its contemporary design can help you gain the maximum benefit from some of the smallest of space andis ideal for properties with limited space or an awkward area in which to fit a conservatory. A popular choice with customers is double hipped, which is ideal if you wish to have a full height conservatory as the roof slopes down away from a centre apex on all sides.
P-SHAPE/BESPOKE
A synergy of style, the combination is a mix of modern with the more traditional. Its multi faceted structure gives it a unique style and shape that makes it differant from any other room in your home.
The ideal style for a larger conservatory, a P-Shape can combine for example a lean to and a Victorian, to create a versatile style that can be used as two differant living areas. Due to the proportions needed to achieve the P-Shape, this style is better suited to larger properties, giving an impressive result.
Aside from the Victorian, Edwardian and Sunlounge combinations the possibilities are quite literally endless. Leyland Conservatories can custom-design a conservatory to fit almost any area, tailored to your individual needs, so don't limit yourself!
